PornHub has become a trail blazer for marketing adult websites, by mixing up the content they put out; going from topical to funny, they have seen their audience grow. They have even been featured in respectable mainstream media channels creating even more reach for the online porn giant.

Cornhub

As an April fools’ stunt, PornHub created an entire subset called Cornhub! The sight saw their normal NSFW content replaced with steamy images and videos of corn! This created a huge buzz as people took to social media to share the joke. The amount of effort that was put into this stunt was what made it work so well; they fully committed to the joke and received numerous features in mainstream media.

Sexploration

Shortly after RedBull completed their stratosphere jump, PornHub set about starting their fundraising campaign called ‘sexploration’. They wanted to create the first out in space sex scene and attempted to $3.4 million. Although their fundraising attempt failed, they received a huge amount of press coverage as the idea was so farfetched.

All You Need Is Hand

Back in 2014, PornHub erected a clean yet thought provoking ad for their site and displayed it for the world to see at Times Square, New York! The ad consisted of two hands making a heart shape with the tag line ‘All You Need Is Hand’ along with their logo. Due to its thought-provoking nature it created such a stir. It was then pulled down after 2 days but still manged to be featured in prominent news outlets across the world.
